Positive Change Adventures

Patagonia Positive Change Adventures represents a natural evolution of Patagonia's commitment to environmental and social responsibility, extending the company's mission into global education. This initiative connects travelers with communities in need to help build schools and support children's education, embodying Patagonia's core values of making a positive impact through direct action.

The program bridges the gap between traditional voluntourism and meaningful community development by creating structured, sustainable educational projects. Like Patagonia's other ventures - from Worn Wear to Patagonia Provisions - this initiative disrupts the status quo by reimagining how travel can serve a greater purpose. Just as the company revolutionized outdoor gear while promoting environmental conservation, Positive Change Adventures transforms travel into a vehicle for lasting social change.

Outcome

Ensuring safety and cultural sensitivity through local partnerships and careful community selection

This extension of Patagonia's brand aligns perfectly with their history of disrupting industries for positive change. Just as Patagonia Provisions reimagined sustainable food systems and Worn Wear challenged fast fashion, Positive Change Adventures reimagines travel as a force for educational equity. The initiative maintains Patagonia's high standards for social responsibility while expanding their impact into global education - a natural progression for a brand known for thinking beyond business as usual.

The program's three-pronged approach focuses on:

Providing travelers with meaningful experiences that combine personal growth with tangible community impact

Creating sustainable educational infrastructure in communities that need it most

Modern Dating

The project, titled "Navigating the Dating Scene to Meet Your Needs and Desires," focuses on understanding the evolving landscape of modern dating in the digital age. It aims to explore what individuals truly need from dating experiences, whether through traditional means or digital platforms like dating apps. The project seeks to identify how societal changes, technological advancements, and personal desires influence dating behaviours and expectations. It also examines the potential future of dating, considering possibilities like AI integration and virtual reality, while emphasizing the importance of authenticity and genuine connections.

The project focused on women experiences, and how harmful it can be to women. However, I found that the problem goes both ways, and yes it might be scarier for women due to safety concerns but, men experience the same pains.

Outcome

Through methods like cultural probes and interviews, I learned more about individuals’ experiences with Dating in NYC. But I didn’t find it to be enough research to come to an outcome to make the dating scene better in NYC, which is why I am continuing my research project but focusing on people in their 20s who are trying to find love in the city and how we can make this a better experience.
